"Providing opportunities ... Improving lives"

HOME

The Child and Young Adult Resource Center is a Michigan Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Our organization is operating under the assumed name of Phyllis Gruber, the mother of its president, Fred Gruber. She is the inspiration for this undertaking, having committed her adult life to helping those who were less fortunate. She died of cancer the morning after his birth.

We are dedicated to advocating for and developing and expanding the learning skills and experiences of underprivileged children. We are also committed to providing educational, training and employment opportunities, as well as therapy to underserved adults, including those who were in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. This holistic program will help them end their family cycles of poverty and abuse and the likelihood of reoffending as adults and instead become contributing members in their families, places of employment and communities.

Our mission will be achieved through a supportive and comprehensive case management approach to address the health, educational, social, employment and economic needs of our program participants.

We are based at the Blessed Hope Church, 3804 Hazel, Lincoln Park, Michigan 48146 and primarily serve southwest Detroit and the downriver communities south of Detroit.
